Is Elliptic legit? Official links and fakes

Elliptic is run by a named company: Elliptic Enterprises Limited, registered in England and Wales (no. 8458210). Our scam vetting of 13 Oct 2026 — operator, regulator lists, security reports, complaints and whether it asks for a wallet connection — found no reports of fraud. Status at our automatic check of 4 Nov 2026: working. Look-alike sites and bots using its name do exist, so open it only from its official website. The real service only needs a public address — anything asking for a seed phrase, a wallet connection or a signature is fake.

  • TelegramNo official Telegram bot
  • Elliptic has no official Telegram bot. Its own impersonation list named a fake Telegram “Elliptic Bot” that collects wallet addresses and phishing sites such as elliptic-finance[.]com. Elliptic scam list (archived, Apr 2026)
Scammers copy AML brands with look-alike sites and Telegram bots. Open a service only from its official website, never connect a wallet or sign a transaction to “check” it, and ignore anyone who offers to recover lost crypto in its name. Live list of fake AML checkers

FAQ

Can an individual use Elliptic?

Not on a self-serve basis: Lens and its other products are sold to businesses on request.

What does Elliptic Lens check?

Its page says Lens screens wallets and transactions in real time and gives a consistent, explainable risk score based on Elliptic’s data and your own risk rules.

Does Elliptic ask for a seed phrase?

It should not, and a real AML check never needs one — only a public address. Any bot or site using this name that asks for a seed phrase or a wallet connection is fake.

Can Elliptic guarantee my exchange won’t freeze funds?

No service can. Exchanges and stablecoin issuers use their own data and rules. A low score lowers the risk; it is not a guarantee.

A high risk score is a reason to look closer, not proof of a crime. A low score does not guarantee that an exchange or issuer will not freeze funds.
