AML check on Arbitrum
How to check an Arbitrum One address for AML risk and which services cover Arbitrum.
Funds bridged from Ethereum keep their history. A useful report follows them across the bridge instead of starting from zero.

Arbitrum specifics
- Withdrawing from Arbitrum to Ethereum through the native bridge takes about a week: the message waits out a challenge period before it can be executed on Ethereum, and the bridge says to expect at least seven days.[2]
Who can freeze funds on Arbitrum
- Native USDC on Arbitrum One is issued by Circle at contract 0xaf88d065e77c8cC2239327C5EDb3A432268e5831. It is the same issuer as USDC on Ethereum.[3]
- Circle's USDC terms let it block USDC transfers to and from an address on-chain. This covers Circle-issued USDC, including native USDC on Arbitrum.[4]
- Arbitrum One also has an older bridged token, USDC.e (0xff970a61a04b1ca14834a43f5de4533ebddb5cc8), made by locking Ethereum USDC in Arbitrum's bridge. It is a different token from native USDC.[5]
- Unlike Ethereum mainnet, Arbitrum has a 12-member Security Council that can take emergency actions with 9 of 12 approvals. The DAO constitution says these powers are only for a true security emergency.[6]
- The Arbitrum One sequencer is run by Offchain Labs. It can reorder or temporarily delay transactions but cannot compromise the chain's safety. Users can bypass it by sending a message from Ethereum through the delayed inbox after about 24 hours.[7]

Sanctions and enforcement cases
- In April 2026 the Arbitrum Security Council used an emergency action to freeze about 30,766 ETH held on Arbitrum One by the exploiter of KelpDAO. Releasing the funds requires a further Arbitrum governance action.[11]
- To move the funds, the Council temporarily upgraded Arbitrum's inbox contract on Ethereum in a single atomic action and then restored it.[11]

FAQ
Is an Arbitrum check different from an Ethereum check?
The address format is the same, but Arbitrum has its own transaction history. Pick Arbitrum if the transfer happened there.
Can funds on Arbitrum be frozen?
Yes, in two ways. Circle can block native USDC at an address, as it can on Ethereum. In April 2026 Arbitrum's Security Council also froze about 30,766 ETH held by the KelpDAO exploiter through an emergency action.
Can the Arbitrum sequencer block my transaction?
It can delay it, but not forever. If the sequencer ignores you, you can submit the transaction through the delayed inbox on Ethereum, and it can be forced in after about 24 hours.
How do I check a Arbitrum address for AML risk?
Copy the public address, open one of the services listed above that supports Arbitrum, and run the check. You never need a seed phrase or private key.
What does “Not verified” mean?
The service claims support somewhere — in marketing copy or a third-party page — but its own docs, pricing or FAQ do not list the network. Treat it as unknown.
