MetaSleuth review
Verdict. A free fund-tracing tool from the security firm BlockSec that also gives each address a five-level compliance risk score with labels such as Sanctioned or Mixer — no sign-up, on 12 networks. It is built for investigations rather than quick screening: there is no PDF report, transactions get no risk score of their own, and TON, Litecoin and XRP are not covered.
How the score adds up
Six criteria, weighted as published in our methodology. Each note lists what we could and could not verify.
A free check is available, free checks, no subscription needed and full price list is public.
7 of the 10 core networks are confirmed in its own docs: Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum and Solana.
Numeric risk score and breakdown by risk category. Missing: PDF report not offered and transaction-hash checks not offered.
Operator named (BlockSec) and says it uses its own attribution data.
No wallet connection — you only paste an address and no account for the first check.
Available via Web and API.

Supported networks

Is MetaSleuth legit? Official links and fakes
MetaSleuth is run by a named company: BlockSec, a blockchain security company; its terms are governed by Hong Kong law, and no registered entity or address is published. Our scam vetting of 13 Oct 2026 — operator, regulator lists, security reports, complaints and whether it asks for a wallet connection — found no reports of fraud. Status at our automatic check of 4 Nov 2026: couldn’t check. The real service only needs a public address — anything asking for a seed phrase, a wallet connection or a signature is fake.

FAQ
Is MetaSleuth free?
Yes. Its Free plan costs $0 a month and its docs say you don’t need to register or log in to search. Paid plans from $30 a month add investigation features, and the Risk Score API is a $499-a-month add-on.
How does MetaSleuth score risk?
Its docs describe five levels — No, Low, Medium, High and Critical Risk (scores 1 to 5) — based on an address’s labels and its interactions with other addresses. BlockSec advises against interacting with addresses scored 4 or higher.
Does MetaSleuth ask for a seed phrase?
It should not, and a real AML check never needs one — only a public address. Any bot or site using this name that asks for a seed phrase or a wallet connection is fake.
Can MetaSleuth guarantee my exchange won’t freeze funds?
No service can. Exchanges and stablecoin issuers use their own data and rules. A low score lowers the risk; it is not a guarantee.
