AML check on HashKey Chain

HashKey Chain is an Ethereum layer 2 from Hong Kong's HashKey Group, live since December 2024, using 0x addresses and HSK for fees.

Address format0x followed by 40 hexadecimal characters (EVM) · chain ID 177; fees are paid in HSK0x17b05e07ad7f1a4725b2715ac5ea08d76b0d69b9Example for illustration, not a real address.
Note

A HashKey Chain address looks exactly like an Ethereum address, so always confirm which network a deposit or withdrawal uses. USDT and USDC on this chain are bridged versions, not issued natively by Tether or Circle.

How to check a HashKey Chain address

  1. Get the public addressAsk your counterparty for the address they will send from — or copy it from the incoming transaction.
  2. Pick a service that covers HashKey ChainChoose one marked “Supported” in the list above. Make sure your AML checker screens HashKey Chain itself; a clean result for the same 0x address on Ethereum says nothing about its HashKey Chain history.
  3. Run the check and read itUse the bridge linked from HashKey Chain's official docs, and expect withdrawals to Ethereum through it to take about 7 days.
A real AML check needs only a public address. Never share a seed phrase or private key.

HashKey Chain specifics

  • HashKey Chain's mainnet launched on 18 December 2024; it was built by Hong Kong-based HashKey Group, which describes it as a 'compliance-friendly' layer 2 blockchain.[1]
  • Network fees (gas) on HashKey Chain are paid in its own token, HSK, and the mainnet's chain ID is 177.[2]
  • HashKey Chain is built on the OP Stack and posts its transaction data to Ethereum, but L2BEAT rates it below Stage 0 because its fault-proof system (the mechanism meant to let anyone challenge invalid withdrawals) is deployed but not functional, and its contracts can be upgraded instantly with no exit window for users.[3]
  • The official bridge listed in HashKey Chain's docs is Superbridge at bridge.hashkeychain.net; the docs also list Orbiter Finance as a third-party option.[4]
  • According to L2BEAT, withdrawing to Ethereum through the native bridge takes about 7 days (a 3.5-day challenge period plus a 3.5-day execution delay), and withdrawals can be censored by the chain's permissioned operators.[5]
  • HashKey Chain's docs list USDT (0xf1b50ed67a9e2cc94ad3c477779e2d4cbfff9029) and USDC (0x054ed45810DbBAb8B27668922D110669c9D88D0a) as bridged tokens, not tokens issued directly on the chain.[6]
  • The docs describe an on-chain KYC tool built as a non-transferable 'soulbound' token with verification levels that apps can check; the docs present it as a developer integration and do not say it is required for every user.[7]
  • HashKey Exchange, a crypto trading platform that is separate from the HashKey Chain network, is run by Hash Blockchain Limited, which appears on the Hong Kong SFC's list of licensed virtual asset trading platforms (licensed 9 November 2022, CE ref. BPL992).[8]

Common risks on HashKey Chain

FAQ

Is HashKey Chain the same as HashKey Exchange?

No. HashKey Chain is a blockchain network. HashKey Exchange is a trading platform run by Hash Blockchain Limited, which is on the Hong Kong SFC's list of licensed virtual asset trading platforms. That licence covers the exchange, not the chain or the apps built on it.

Are USDT and USDC on HashKey Chain issued by Tether and Circle?

Not natively. As of 4 October 2026, HashKey Chain is not on Tether's supported-protocols list or Circle's native USDC list, and the official docs list both tokens on HashKey Chain as bridged.

Does every HashKey Chain user have to pass KYC?

The official docs describe an on-chain KYC tool that apps can check, but they do not say it is mandatory for all users. Don't assume an address has been identity-verified.

How do I check a HashKey Chain address for AML risk?

Copy the public address, open one of the services listed above that supports HashKey Chain, and run the check. You never need a seed phrase or private key.

What does “Not verified” mean?

The service claims support somewhere — in marketing copy or a third-party page — but its own docs, pricing or FAQ do not list the network. Treat it as unknown.
