AML check on Scroll
Scroll is a zk rollup on Ethereum: addresses look exactly like Ethereum's (0x...) and fees are paid in ETH, but Scroll keeps its own separate transaction history.
An AML check on an Ethereum address does not automatically cover the same address on Scroll, so make sure your checker supports Scroll (chain ID 534352). When we checked on 4 October 2026, neither Tether's nor Circle's official list of supported networks included Scroll.
Services that check Scroll
How to check a Scroll address
- Get the public addressAsk your counterparty for the address they will send from — or copy it from the incoming transaction.
- Pick a service that covers ScrollChoose one marked “Supported” in the list above. Before sending, confirm that both your AML checker and the receiving service support Scroll. The same 0x address on Ethereum has a different history.
- Run the check and read itWithdrawals to Ethereum through the official bridge only finish once Scroll's proof for that batch is verified on Ethereum, so allow time and ignore anyone offering to 'speed up' a withdrawal for a fee.
Scroll specifics
- Scroll mainnet uses chain ID 534352, and its official network settings list ETH as the currency, so transaction fees on Scroll are paid in ETH.[1]
- Scroll is a zk rollup: it posts batches of transactions to Ethereum, a contract on Ethereum checks a cryptographic validity proof for each batch, and withdrawals to Ethereum can only be completed once their batch has been proven and finalized there.[2]
- Scroll has the same two kinds of accounts as Ethereum: ordinary user accounts (wallets) and smart-contract accounts.[3]
- Scroll's sequencer (the server that puts transactions in order) is run by Scroll itself; if it fails or censors you, you can force a transaction in through Ethereum, but that can take up to 7 days.[4]
- In April 2026 Scroll announced it would move control of its core contracts from an independent Security Council to a Scroll admin multisig wallet, saying the council's cost compared with how often it was used meant it was 'no longer justified'.[5]
- According to L2BEAT, since 1 June 2026 a 3-of-4 Scroll team multisig (it replaced the earlier 9-of-12 independent Security Council) can upgrade all of Scroll's core contracts with no delay. That leaves users no window to exit before an unwanted upgrade, and L2BEAT rates Scroll 'Stage 0'.[6]

FAQ
Is my Ethereum address the same on Scroll?
Yes. Scroll uses the same account types as Ethereum, so the same 0x address works there, but its balance and transaction history on Scroll are separate. An AML check has to look at Scroll (chain ID 534352) specifically.
Is there native USDT or USDC on Scroll?
When we checked on 4 October 2026, neither Tether's nor Circle's official list of supported networks included Scroll.
Who can change Scroll's core contracts?
According to L2BEAT, since 1 June 2026 a 3-of-4 multisig controlled by the Scroll team can upgrade Scroll's core contracts without delay. It replaced an independent Security Council.
How do I check a Scroll address for AML risk?
Copy the public address, open one of the services listed above that supports Scroll, and run the check. You never need a seed phrase or private key.
What does “Not verified” mean?
The service claims support somewhere — in marketing copy or a third-party page — but its own docs, pricing or FAQ do not list the network. Treat it as unknown.
