AML check on dYdX Chain
dYdX Chain is a Cosmos-based blockchain built for a perpetual futures exchange; addresses start with dydx1 and trading collateral is USDC brought in from other chains.
DYDX exists both as the older ethDYDX token on Ethereum and as the native token on dYdX Chain, and USDC on dYdX Chain currently comes from Noble, which Circle is phasing out. Check which token and which USDC version you hold before you deposit or withdraw.
Services that check dYdX Chain
How to check a dYdX Chain address
- Get the public addressAsk your counterparty for the address they will send from — or copy it from the incoming transaction.
- Pick a service that covers dYdX ChainChoose one marked “Supported” in the list above. Your dydx1... address is created from your Ethereum or Solana wallet but is a separate address, so double-check the address and network before sending funds from an exchange.
- Run the check and read itIf you hold Noble USDC, follow Circle's and dYdX's official channels on the migration; Circle says redemptions through Circle Mint end on 12 January 2027.
dYdX Chain specifics
- dYdX Chain is its own blockchain built with the Cosmos SDK and CometBFT; each validator keeps an in-memory order book that is not part of consensus, and matched trades are written on-chain once at least two-thirds of validators approve the block.[1]
- To trade, users deposit Noble USDC as collateral; deposits from other chains are routed through the Noble chain to dYdX Chain over IBC (Cosmos's standard for moving tokens between chains).[2]
- Circle is ending USDC on Noble: new minting through Circle Mint stops on 13 October 2026, and redemptions through Circle Mint stay open until 12 January 2027, when the Noble USDC contract will be paused.[3]
- Staked DYDX takes 30 days to unbond, the active validator set is capped at 60, and staking rewards come from trading and gas fees and are paid in USDC and DYDX; base trading fees in the lowest volume tier are 5.0 bps (0.05%) for takers and 1.0 bps for makers.[4]
- Front ends run by dYdX Operations Services Ltd. (including dydx.trade) are not available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or sanctioned countries such as Iran and North Korea; users who break these location rules can be put into close-only mode, which only allows cancelling orders, closing positions and withdrawing.[5]
- dYdX's software terms bar people in comprehensively sanctioned territories (Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk) and anyone on sanctions lists such as the US Treasury's OFAC list; they also bar US, Canadian and UK persons from the perpetuals trading software.[6]
- Older ethDYDX tokens on Ethereum could be converted into native DYDX through a one-way bridge; in December 2024 a dYdX governance text proposal (#189) passed to stop supporting this bridge on the dYdX Chain side.[7]
- In November 2023 a trader manipulated the YFI and SUSHI markets on the older dYdX v3 exchange (not dYdX Chain), draining more than $9 million from the insurance fund; dYdX says the attacker withdrew about $27 million after depositing about $16 million, and no user funds were compromised.[8]
- On 10 October 2025 dYdX Chain halted for about 8 hours after an ordering error in liquidating an isolated market triggered a built-in failsafe; dYdX says funds stayed secure and the protocol was not insolvent.[9]
Common risks on dYdX Chain
FAQ
Is my dYdX Chain address the same as my Ethereum address?
No. dYdX's help center says a dydx1... address is generated when you connect an Ethereum or Solana wallet and is permanently linked to that wallet, but it is a separate address on a separate blockchain.
What happens to USDC on dYdX Chain now that Circle is ending Noble USDC?
Circle says new Noble USDC minting stops on 13 October 2026 and redemptions through Circle Mint end on 12 January 2027. When we checked on 4 October 2026, dYdX’s documentation still described Noble USDC as the collateral and gave no switchover date, so follow dYdX’s official announcements.
Can anyone use the dYdX trading website?
No. dYdX's help center says the front ends run by dYdX Operations Services Ltd. are not available in the US, Canada, the UK or sanctioned countries, and users who break these rules can be limited to closing positions and withdrawing.
How do I check a dYdX Chain address for AML risk?
Copy the public address, open one of the services listed above that supports dYdX Chain, and run the check. You never need a seed phrase or private key.
What does “Not verified” mean?
The service claims support somewhere — in marketing copy or a third-party page — but its own docs, pricing or FAQ do not list the network. Treat it as unknown.
