AML check on Mantle
Mantle is an Ethereum layer 2 that uses the same 0x addresses as Ethereum, but it charges fees in MNT and keeps its own separate transaction history.
A Mantle address looks identical to an Ethereum address, but its activity on Mantle is recorded separately, so run your AML check on the Mantle network specifically. Before relying on a checker, confirm that it lists Mantle as a supported chain.
Services that check Mantle
How to check a Mantle address
- Get the public addressAsk your counterparty for the address they will send from — or copy it from the incoming transaction.
- Pick a service that covers MantleChoose one marked “Supported” in the list above. Choose Mantle, not Ethereum, in your AML checker; a clean result for the same address on Ethereum does not cover its Mantle history.
- Run the check and read itKeep a small amount of MNT for fees, because ETH alone cannot pay for transactions on Mantle.
Mantle specifics
- Mantle is an EVM-compatible Ethereum layer 2 that its docs now describe as a ZK validity rollup: every batch of Mantle transactions comes with a cryptographic proof that Ethereum checks.[1]
- Transaction fees on Mantle are paid in MNT, not ETH, so a wallet needs some MNT to send transactions.[2]
- After the OP Succinct upgrade that started on 16 September 2025, the wait for withdrawals from Mantle to Ethereum through the official bridge dropped from 7 days to 12 hours (from 23 September 2025).[3]
- Mantle originally stored its transaction data on EigenDA, a separate data network, and has announced a move to Ethereum's own data 'blobs', which its docs say turns it from a validium into a standard ZK rollup.[4]
- MNT comes out of BitDAO: the BitDAO governance vote BIP-21 made Mantle the single ecosystem brand and approved a plan to convert BitDAO's BIT token.[5]
Common risks on Mantle
FAQ
Is my Mantle address the same as my Ethereum address?
Mantle uses the same 0x address format as Ethereum, so the same address can appear on both networks. Each network keeps its own balances and transaction history, so check each one separately.
How long does a withdrawal from Mantle to Ethereum take?
Mantle's September 2025 upgrade notice says withdrawals through the official bridge went from 7 days to 12 hours. Mantle's docs also say the system can fall back to a 7-day challenge window if its proof system falls back to the older method, so check the bridge for the current wait.
Are USDT and USDC issued natively on Mantle?
When we checked, Mantle did not appear on Tether's supported-protocols page or on Circle's native USDC list, so neither issuer lists Mantle as a native network.
How do I check a Mantle address for AML risk?
Copy the public address, open one of the services listed above that supports Mantle, and run the check. You never need a seed phrase or private key.
What does “Not verified” mean?
The service claims support somewhere — in marketing copy or a third-party page — but its own docs, pricing or FAQ do not list the network. Treat it as unknown.
