AML check on Blast
Blast is an Ethereum layer 2 with standard 0x addresses and ETH gas, where ETH and USDB balances earned yield automatically.
News outlets reported on 2 October 2026 that Blast is shutting down and asked users to withdraw by 26 October 2026. When we checked on 4 October 2026, Blast’s own website, docs and blog showed no such notice, so we can’t confirm it. If you hold funds on Blast, check its official channels now: official withdrawals to Ethereum take about 7 days.

Blast specifics
- Blast mainnet is an EVM network with chain ID 81457 that pays gas in ETH. Its official block explorer is blastscan.io.[1]
- On Blast, ETH and USDB balances grow automatically ('rebase'). Blast's docs say the ETH yield came from staking on Ethereum (initially via Lido), and the USDB yield came from MakerDAO's on-chain T-bill protocol.[2]
- Blast's docs say withdrawals from Blast to Ethereum through the official bridge take about 7 days.[3]
- According to L2BEAT, a 3-of-5 multisig can upgrade Blast's core bridge contracts instantly, and users get no exit window before an unwanted upgrade takes effect. Blast's own governance docs describe a five-member Safety Committee multisig that can 'execute any software upgrade ... with no delay' in a security emergency.[4]
- Uniswap ended support for Blast (chain ID 81457) in its bridging and cross-chain flows, saying demand for Blast had 'decreased significantly'.[5]
- L2BEAT rates Blast below Stage 0 because its fraud-proof system is 'still under development'. Users have to trust the block proposer to post correct state to Ethereum.[6]
